Becky Johnston, LCSW
Licensed Therapist
My Mission
My mission is to use evidence-based therapy approaches to help you live with clarity, intention, and authenticity. We will explore the “why” behind your patterns, stress, and stuck places, and identify strategies to move you forward. You will feel empowered, grounded, and resilient. You are always in the driver’s seat, but you never have to figure it out alone.
What it’s Like Working with Becky
Think of me as that friend who asks all the good questions, never judges you, never steals your fries, and definitely won’t suggest a juice cleanse.
I strive to create a warm, welcoming space where therapy feels more like a meaningful conversation than a clinical interrogation. No pressure to be perfect. You can show up messy, tired, unsure, or hopeful. All of it is welcome. Just real talk, curiosity, and a lot of compassion.
My therapeutic style is collaborative and solutions-focused, with a balanced mix of humor, empathy, and real talk. We spend time gently exploring your story and the deeper reasons behind what you are feeling. And we also focus on practical tools and small shifts that help you move forward.
There is space for laughter when it helps, tears when they matter, and practical strategies that make change feel doable instead of overwhelming. I believe in therapy that empowers you to take charge of your own healing while feeling supported along the way. You will not be rushed or expected to have all the answers. We move at a pace that feels supportive and sustainable, one honest step at a time.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, big life transitions, parenting stress, or that quiet sense of feeling stuck or disconnected, my goal is simple: I want you to feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported. Therapy does not have to feel clinical. It can feel safe, steady, and even hopeful.
You deserve a space where you can exhale, be fully yourself, and start building a life that feels lighter and more authentic.
Becky’s Story
I was born and raised in northern Montana and graduated from Montana State University. Go Cats!! In my early adult years, I relocated with my young family to Phoenix, Arizona, where I enjoyed a career in brand and event marketing. By 2012, the mountains called us back to Bozeman to raise our family. Once home, something quietly shifted in me. I started asking bigger questions about purpose and meaning. That little voice inside kept nudging me toward something new, even though it felt scary and uncertain.
Even though I was in my forties with kids, a mortgage, and a solid love of routine, I decided to go back to school. I followed my curiosity about people and their stories and eventually earned my Master’s from Tulane University. Becoming a therapist later in life means I bring not just clinical training, but real-life experience from the messy front lines of parenting, marriage, divorce, career twists, and all the “who am I? and what am I doing?” moments in between.
I understand how complicated and tender life can be. And I truly believe it is never too late to grow, change, and create a life that feels more aligned with who you want to be.
