Becky Johnston, LCSW

Licensed Therapist

My Mission

My mission is to use scientifically proven, evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help you live with more clarity, intention, and authenticity—whatever that looks like for you. I will always strive to empower you towards insight and resilience, so that your life is of your choosing, but you never alone in the process.

What it’s Like Working with Becky

Think of me as that friend who asks all the good questions—but won’t judge you, won’t steal your fries, and definitely won’t suggest a juice cleanse.

I strive to create a warm, welcoming space where therapy feels more like a meaningful conversation than a clinical interrogation. You won’t find awkward silences or judgment here—just an authentic, approachable vibe. My therapeutic style is collaborative and compassionate, with a balanced mix of humor, empathy, and real talk. You’ll laugh when it helps, cry when it matters, and always leave with practical tools you can use in your everyday life. I believe in therapy that empowers you to take charge of your own healing while feeling supported along the way.

Joining me in the office is Benny, my 10-pound hypoallergenic sidekick currently in training to become a certified therapy dog. While he hasn’t quite earned his diploma yet, he’s already a pro at providing gentle presence, quiet companionship, and the occasional tail wag. Benny is especially good at offering the kind of steady, silent support that can make a big difference when you're unpacking life’s tougher moments. He’s not the type to interrupt, but he’s always tuned in. Think of him as a fluffy support system who won’t ask how that makes you feel, but will definitely be there while you figure it out.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, big life transitions, parenting stress, or just feeling stuck, my goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported. Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical—it can feel human.

Becky’s Story

I was born and raised in northern Montana and graduated from Montana State University—Go Cats! After relocating to Phoenix Arizona and working in brand and event marketing for over a decade, the mountains called us back to Bozeman to raise our family. But once home, I felt a shift. A quiet inner voice pushed me toward a bold, slightly terrifying idea: a career change.

Despite being in my forties—with kids, a mortgage, and a love of routine—I returned to school, leaned into my passion for understanding others, and earned my Master’s from Tulane. Becoming a therapist later in life means I bring not just clinical training, but real-life experience from the messy front lines of parenting, marriage, divorce, career twists, and all the “what am I doing?” moments in between.
