My Mission

Rumi wisely said, “Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.” My mission is to help others find and sustain well being by learning how to engage and how to release, and by discovering the essential nature of balance.

What it’s Like Working with Lauren

I’m passionate about journeys and stories. And I’m relentlessly hopeful, but not in an SNL-skit, grossly eager type of way.

In session, I’m curious, inviting, and patient. I offer clients my beautiful and lively mix of sincerity and candidness, diligence and flexibility, quirkiness and predictability. I’m inspired by explorers and thinkers: Bowlby, Levine, Dana, Ogden, Siegel, Buddha, Ferrell, Bourdain, Didion and (Mary) Oliver.

In our work together, I’ll call into action the knowledge and strategies from somatic, mindfulness, attachment, and development theories. Therapy is more than just hard work in session—its practice, its daring, its rewarding.

As someone who has experienced relationships, parenting, momentous transitions, and all the messiness that life has to offer, I am prepared to be with your experiences and struggles. I’m here to walk alongside you—to listen, manifest, and re-create your life stories.

Being human can be a lot sometimes—whether it’s the ache of a tough relationship, the weight of a major change, or just feeling stuck in the swirl of stress and self-doubt.

In our work together, you’ll find a safe, down-to-earth space to unpack what’s going on, explore old patterns, set healthy boundaries (yup, even the hard ones), and reconnect with your own meaning and mojo. Think of therapy as soul-tending meets skills-building—with plenty of space for your real, radiant self to shine through.

Lauren’s Story

An East-coaster with an explorer vibe, I’ve lived in big cities and greener spaces. My favorite memories come from traveling and laughing. I enjoy the stunning expanse of mountain views and oceanfronts; I’m a sucker for a good pun and improvisation.

I’ve attended five colleges: a testament to my passion for experiencing new people, places, and information. While earning two degrees, I dabbled in poetry, journalism, film, and music. Professionally, I’ve written articles, brainstormed headlines, and refined a mission statement or two before coming into counseling.

I love great stories: Ferdinand the Bull, Ted Lasso, Little Women, The Big Lebowski…SO MANY others. My favorite things include water slides, hiking, fishing, soup, marching bands, meditation, live music in small places, and reading on hammocks. Lately, I’m playing with new frontiers - tennis and drums.

Beliefs & Values

I believe in the profound experiences of leaning in, letting go, and finding balance.

I believe in the discovery of meaning over fact, and in the freedom to write and rewrite your own narrative.

I believe humor and play are life essentials.

I believe “being” and “doing” are equals, and that “being” takes some practice.

I believe listening and engaging are often underrated acts of kindness.

I believe belonging is a basic human right.

I believe sleep and the sun are magical.
